The gifts we share are the heart of Dance New England:
creative expression, volunteering, leading a class, donating,
and supporting our local dances.
What gets you excited and curious? Would offering your time and energy to a particular facet of Camp feel especially meaningful? Are there skills you can readily contribute or skills that you’d like to learn? Have you identified a need that you can fill?
You will have a richer, more fulfilling volunteering experience if you first identify your interests and goals, and match them to some of the myriad engaging opportunities available.
We all work together to make DNE happen — especially Camp. There are also many opportunities to lend a hand and join the fun throughout the year. Co-creating this participatory community is central to its spirit, values, and ethics, and is a core reason why Camp feels so unique and nourishing. Call it love in action.
As a nonprofit and community hub, DNE offers a wide variety of volunteer opportunities:

“Volunteering is the ultimate exercise in democracy. You vote in elections once a year, but when you volunteer, you vote every day about the kind of community you want to live in. ” –Author Unknown

Lets go!DNE thrives through the generosity of this community. To fund our land co-ownership and our many offerings, donations are essential. Learn more about Donating.
Four dances came together to form DNE: Dance Friday, Dance Spree, Barefoot Boogie, and Freestyle Frolic. We celebrate these local regular dances that constantly maintain and re-weave the fabric of community together and feed our yearly Dance Camp. See our History Timeline for more of that story. You can contact the organizers of these dances to learn more and get involved.
In addition to a spectrum of dance styles, dozens of other classes are taught at Dance Camp by community members: yoga, meditation, various creative pursuits, communication and relationship skills, and more. This is your chance to share your gifts with a receptive, curious community. To apply to teach at Camp or a weekend DNE event, please see the Job Board for this year’s teacher hiring details. Alternatively, you can volunteer and sign up to teach a FreeU class at Dance Camp.
“Everybody can be great…because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.”
— Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
