Teachers Committee Process

The Teachers Committee uses the following criteria to select proposals for DNE’s teaching schedule:

  • Unless otherwise decided by consensus of the entire committee and documented in our minutes, the results from our annual “Desired Classes” survey determine the number of class proposals approved in each category.
    • Therefore, proposals compete with other proposals in the same category.
  • Each committee member has a track of categories for which they are responsible.
  • Proposals are evaluated based on:
    • Prior year class evaluations
    • Prior year FreeU evaluations
    • Community & other references for teachers new to DNE
